About Me

NYREE RICHARDSON ITEC dip MFHT

After a decade of managing pubs and working in entertainment I finally found my vocation in life after experiencing a course of physiotherapy and massage whilst living in Tenerife.

In 2004 I returned to the UK and trained full time at City of Bristol College gaining ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) diplomas in Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology. At this time I also completed a first and second degree Reiki course with Louise Chalice. Since then I have gone on to complete ITEC qualifications in Sports Massage, Stone Therapy and Indian Head Massage at Devon Academy of Complementary Therapies and a course in Hands Free Massage at Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork. I also travelled to Thailand to train in Thai Massage at the Wat Po Traditional Medical School. More recently I qualified as a yoga instructor with the British Wheel of Yoga.

In 2011 I joined the Birdwell Clinic team full time to work alongside our excellent physiotherapists, osteopath and councellors. In 2020 I opened a second practice in Chepstow.

I am constantly honing my skills through research and by attending various advanced massage technique courses, this ensures that my knowledge is kept up to date and that I meet the CPD (Continued Professional Development) requirements set by the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) of which I am a member. This certifies that I am fully qualified and insured. I am currently (2023/2024) studying a further Sports Massage course with the Cotswold Academy. When it comes to the human body, you can never stop learning!

Although the majority of my work is deep tissue/sports based, the wide repertoire of treatments I offer means I can integrate or recommend other practices to tailor a session completely unique to your needs.
